Audiotape Notes:

We can transfer your old audio cassettes to audio CD (playable on any CD player). We capture the audio into our computer in real time in 16 bit, 44.1KHz stereo (PCM) while ensuring that the volume levels are not too loud so as to cause sound distortion (clipping). Each stereo channel (left and right) is then cleaned up using high quality noise reduction software to reduce any hiss or hum. The sound file (.wav) is then normalized for optimum volume. The cost for capturing and cleaning up audio from tape is $3.50 for 5 minutes. For long audio clips just figure $42 per hour of audio. Each CD can hold up to 80 minutes (1 hour and 20 minutes) of audio. Copies of the audio CD are then made for $1 apiece. All this takes about 3 - 4 weeks time depending on the amount of audiotape you send.
